An exhibition at the Suncheon Literature Museum that is worth stopping by when traveling to Suncheon

#Exhibition The Suncheon Literature Museum, located in the Suncheon Natural Ecological Park, was built to commemorate the literary spirit of novelist Kim Seung-ok and fairy tale writer Jeong Chae-bong. It was built with nine garden-style thatched-roof buildings in harmony with the surrounding Suncheon Bay and opened in October 2010. The Literature Museum consists of Kim Seung-ok Hall, Jeong Chae-bong Hall, a multipurpose room, and a rest area. The exhibition halls of both writers display related materials in a three-dimensional manner so that you can see their lives and literary worlds at a glance. Both writers developed their literary sensibilities in Suncheon. The foggy city of Mujin that appears in Kim Seung-ok's novel 'Mujin Gihaeng' is Suncheon. After releasing a series of novels that brought a new wind to Korean literature in the 1960s, including 'Mujin Gihaeng', Kim Seung-ok moved to the film industry and gained great fame as a screenwriter. Starting with the film 'Fog' adapted from 'Mujin Gihaeng', Kim Dong-in's 'Potato', and Joseon's 'Yeongja's Golden Age', all films adapted from these films were box office hits. The Kim Seung-ok Museum exhibits novel manuscripts, movie scripts, posters, and newspaper articles. Jeong Chae-bong was the first Korean fairy tale writer to have his fairy tale collections 'The Bird That Came Out of the Water' and 'Oseam' translated and introduced in Germany and France, respectively, and he played an active role as a representative fairy tale writer in Korea.
