A beautiful park hidden in Suwon <Hyo-won Park>

Hyowon Park is a great place for an outing. You can relax and feel Suwon leisurely☺️ It is a really large and beautiful park! The area is 141,642㎡. It was created in 1994 by erecting various monuments symbolizing filial piety. You can see various sculptures that can awaken children's feelings of filial piety, such as the statue of a mother. Jeju Street, symbolizing the sister city of Jeju City, has been created, and there is also a traditional spinning top game field. The lawn is also used as a free wedding hall. It is popular with teenagers because it has a basketball court, badminton court, and foot volleyball court. On July 16, 1998, it was designated as a green restroom for teenagers. Meanwhile, the public restroom is considered one of the most comfortable and beautiful in the province. Jeju Street, created in June 1999, is 160m long and 3m wide. It features Dolhareubang, Seolmundae Halman statue, the main character of Jeju's birth myth, and Haenyeo statue, as well as models of Jeju's traditional thatched houses, Hallasan roe deer statues, and Jeongnang. The area around the street is made of Jeju trees, and the road is paved with Jeju stones. Meanwhile, Jeju City installed a model of Suwon Hwaseong Fortress in the Woodang Library. On January 1, 2000, a millennium sculpture was erected by collecting handprints from 1,000 citizens. The 430m street from the park entrance to the outdoor music hall of Gyeonggi Arts and Culture Center was designated as a cultural street by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Various cultural events, including the Suwon Arts Festival, are held on this street. It is a 20-minute walk from Suwon Intercity Bus Terminal, and nearby are Suwon Fortress, Yungneung Royal Tomb, Yongjusa Temple, Gwanggyo Recreation Area, Gyeonggi Arts and Culture Center, and Suwon World Cup Stadium. The street from the park to the opposite side of the Housing Bank Dongsuwon branch is Na Hye-seok Street, 15-20m wide and 440m long. Benches, cafes, and restaurants line the left and right sides of the street, drawing attention as a downtown resting place for citizens. This street was created to commemorate Na Hye-seok (羅蕙錫, 1896-1948), who was born in Suwon and became the first female Western-style painter in Korea.
