Suwon Hwaseong Fortress

The four main gates—Paldalmun, Janganmun, Hwaseomun, and Changnyongmun—are beautifully designed and provide excellent photo opportunities. The path is well-maintained and accessible, with informative plaques explaining the history and purpose of various structures, such as the Hwahongmun Gate and Seojangdae Command Post. Visitors can also experience a bit of history through activities like archery at the fortress’s Dongjangdae area. Another highlight is the Hwaseong Haenggung Palace, located within the fortress grounds. This temporary royal residence provides insight into the daily lives of Joseon royalty and hosts cultural performances, including traditional music and reenactments of royal ceremonies.
