W Suzhou: Modern with a Touch of Jiangnan Charm

It's been over a year since my last business trip to Suzhou. This time, I had some work near the Suzhou Industrial Park for a couple of days, so I chose to check in to the W Suzhou. More importantly, I wanted to try the Su Yan Chinese Restaurant. The hotel is close to both Suzhou Industrial Park Station and Suzhou Station, but since I was coming from Beijing, I could only arrive at Suzhou North Station. While I could have taken the subway to the hotel, I opted for a taxi, and it only took about half an hour (without traffic). As soon as I entered the hotel, the modern decor and various contrasting color designs immediately gave me that W feeling. From the doorman to the lobby staff, every employee greeted me warmly, making me feel truly welcomed and cared for. For my room, I chose a lake view room. It happened to be thundering and raining these two days in Suzhou. However, it didn't diminish my love for the ink-painting-like scenery of Jiangnan after the rain. The room's green elements felt modern and lively, and the floor-to-ceiling windows offered a stunning view of Jinji Lake. Soaking in the large bathtub was truly relaxing. The next day, I started with a workout in the hotel gym, where the breathtaking view from the high floor made exercising less tedious. Afterward, I headed to the breakfast restaurant for a bowl of Aozao noodles and enjoyed the plentiful breakfast spread.
