We were able to enter Burma, Tachilek District. 🇲🇲 When we crossed the border, the first thing we saw was a row of Burmese tuk-tuks waiting for tourists to call for their services. On the side, there was a market. Most of them were clothes and brand-name knockoffs. The market was similar to the one in Thailand. It was hot, so we just walked around but didn't buy anything. 🇲🇲 We walked back to the first spot where the tuk-tuks were parked. There was a driver who came to sell a tour to 4 places for 200 baht / 2 people. We were interested, so we agreed. 🇲🇲 It was my first time riding a Burmese tuk-tuk. I was very excited. Some roads were good, some were gravel. It was scary going up hills, wondering if the driver would be able to make it. But in the end, we were able to go to all the places on the tour. 🇲🇲 The first place on the program was Wat Phra Chao Rakhang, or as the Burmese call it, Wat Tai Yai. The decorations were similar to temples in northern Thailand. When we went, there must have been some kind of ceremony. We saw locals wearing white and bringing food to make merit all over the church. 🇲🇲 The second place was a replica of Shwedagon Pagoda. Normally, the real pagoda is located in Yangon, but the one in Tachileik is a replica and a smaller version. However, the worship is still based on the real one. For those who are not convenient to travel, you can worship here as a way to make a wish. 🇲🇲 The third place was the White Jade Temple, but the temple itself was green. The architecture is similar to Indian idols. It is not a very big temple. We went inside to pay homage, there was no one there. 🇲🇲 The 4th place is a noodle shop located at the entrance to the Shwedagon Pagoda replica. At that time, it was almost noon. We ordered dry noodles. The shop served noodles with pickled vegetables and soup. We tried putting pickled vegetables in the noodles, mixing them together, and tasting it. It was delicious. The taste was similar to our local Nam Ngiaw, a bit sour. But overall, it was good. This shop was full of customers. The driver recommended it, but I can't remember the name of the shop. 🇲🇲 After visiting all 4 places according to the program, he drove a tuk-tuk to drop us off at the same spot, which was the market where we got on the car at first. This trip was worth it. It only took half a day, but we visited 4 places in Burma.
