🇯🇴-1.3 A 40-minute drive from #Petra ( #Prtra ), there is a Sela Castle, which is a very special historical site. Due to the turmoil of the Israel-Pakistan war in recent years, the tourism industry in the entire Middle East has been severely affected. So there were no tourists along the way, which made me wonder if I had taken the wrong road. When I arrived, the entire ruins were empty and I was the only one there. But, this is also fine, #travel is all about constant exploration, whether it is the world or even one’s own soul. So I simply took some water, hid my luggage, and started climbing towards the ruins. "Sela" in the Old Testament of the Bible (2 Kings 14:7, Sela means rock). The castle, which sits on a rocky plateau, features extraordinary carved reliefs and artifacts that offer a fascinating glimpse into an ancient civilisation. The artifacts found in the area were found to be carvings of the Neo-Babylonian King Nabonidus (556-539 BC). The entire ruins feel like they have not been overly restored, so everything looks like you can feel the footsteps of our ancestors in every little detail. After the 1.5-hour round trip, I was starving, so I decided to treat myself. I ordered the vegetable soup, #falafel combo and apple juice. The result was really delicious. I didn't expect that each meal would come with four slices of Pita and a pile of lettuce. In addition, the waiter would give us dessert and spiced milk tea, so I was super full 🫣. And it only costs 10JOD (460TWD), which is definitely the most recommended in #Jordan (so I ate there two nights in a row. The next day, the same waiter brought me dessert + drinks).
