The cool and easy-to-walk Tianmu Ancient Trail

Tianmu Historic Trail is located in Beitou District, Taipei City. It was originally a flat and wide waterway opened during the Japanese colonial period, responsible for supplying the Yangmingshan springs to the Tianmu area. The trail is 2.6 kilometers long and has two entrances to the mountain, located near Lane 4, Alley 61, Guanghua Road, Tianmu and Ai Fu 3rd Street, Chinese Culture University. The entire Tianmu Historic Trail is approximately 120-300 meters above sea level and belongs to Taiwan's low-altitude subtropical broad-leaved forest ecosystem. The northeast monsoon blowing from the saddle of Datun Mountain brings strong winds, rain and low temperatures, making the windward side of the ancient trail on the mountainside present a warm temperate broad-leaved forest landscape. The wetland environment in the valleys and shady valleys on the sheltered side of the mountainside is conducive to the growth of tropical broad-leaved tree species, such as tropical buttress roots, stem flowers, and entanglements. Although the Tianmu Historic Trail is only 300 meters above sea level, it has different ecosystems such as tropical, subtropical and warm temperate broad-leaved forests, which is extremely precious. The trail is within the Caoshan waterway system, sandwiched between the mountain trees, making it particularly cool and comfortable to walk on.
