Taipei's Long-Established Unagi Rice Specialty Store: Hizenya.

Walking past the alley on Zhongshan North Road, seeing not many people in line, I decided to try this place, known as a traditional Taipei establishment. The high cost-performance ratio and affordable prices are the reasons it's recommended online. The prices are indeed not expensive, and I boldly ordered the small unagi rice for $250, unagi egg roll for $130, sashimi for $200, and raw oysters for $60. The eel is brushed with sauce and grilled, indeed exuding a fragrant aroma, but the texture and seasoning are average, lacking the amazing sensation of fat bursting in the mouth, and there are slightly too many small bones in the eel. The rice is also a bit too soft, making for a mediocre experience, but not bad tasting. The unagi egg roll is quite bland, and the crispy, tender taste of the eel is not noticeable, overshadowed by the fried egg. As for the sashimi and raw oysters, they pass for being fresh, but I personally do not like the pickled vinegar used with the oysters, and the sauce is a bit too much. In summary, it's not very delicious, but it's acceptable for the price. Despite the appearance of a large crowd, the serving and table turnover rates are fast, so there's no long wait.
