Xingtian Temple

Xingtian Temple is one of Taipei’s most popular Taoist temples, dedicated to Guan Yu, the god of war and justice. Despite being relatively modern (built in 1967), it attracts thousands of worshippers daily who come to seek blessings, protection, and guidance. The temple’s architecture is striking, with its red columns, ornate carvings, and a serene courtyard where people practice meditation and reading. Uniquely, Xingtian Temple does not allow the burning of incense or offering of meat sacrifices, promoting a more environmentally friendly form of worship.
