Hidden Literary Corner in Taipei: An Afternoon Trip to Taiwan Literature Base

If you love old houses, literature, and the kind of atmosphere where you can walk quietly and take your time, then the 'Taiwan Literature Base' is definitely a place you'll want to visit again and again. Located in the Japanese dormitory cluster on Qidong Street in Zhongzheng District, Taipei City, this place was originally seven old buildings left from the Japanese colonial period. After restoration, it has become a space for promoting Taiwanese literature. The park is not large, but it has a lot of charm. The Japanese-style wooden houses and the lush green paths are truly beautiful. There are also regular literary exhibitions, writer-in-residence programs, and cross-disciplinary activities held here. On weekdays, there are not many visitors, making it a perfect place for a solitary walk, reading, or quietly sitting on the tatami with a book. This time, I found this spot on the map and was pleasantly surprised. It's amazing that there is such a comfortable place hidden in the alleys of Taipei.
