Takachiho Gorge

Getting There - takes 1-hour drive from Aso district Attractions - An amazing experience and truly breathtaking views! The gorge is a strip of area that’s in the lower section within the mountains, so there are more than one viewpoint to check out if you like the views. I found both the trail and bridges to have fantastic views of the area. Parking is not free (¥500) and we had to walk to get to the gorge. It took us about 15-20 minutes to get to the boat area specifically. If you want to go on the boats, you need to reserve tickets online as they don’t take walk-ins. I would definitely recommend visitors to dress for hiking as there was quite a bit of stairs and physical activities required to see the best views of the gorge.
