Kuroshima Visitor Center: A place to learn about the history and nature of Kuroshima and experience the charms of the island

Located in Kuroshima, Taketomi-cho, Yaeyama-gun, Okinawa Prefecture, the Kuroshima Visitor Center is a facility within the Iriomote-Ishigaki National Park that introduces the natural environment, history, and culture of Kuroshima. Inside the center, old farm tools, daily necessities, and Hari boats used in traditional events are on display, allowing visitors to gain a deeper understanding of the life and culture of Kuroshima. In addition, the center is designed to be visually enjoyable, with paintings of sea creatures on the walls and Bashofu cloth hanging from the ceiling. Near the center is the Fuzumari observation deck, which was once used to watch foreign ships, giving a sense of the historical background.
