Visiting a Sake Brewery in the Castle Town

Near the Tamba Sasayama Castle, the sake brewery 'Hōmei' opened the 'Horoyoi Jokagura' as a tour facility in 2001. The building is also registered as a tangible cultural property of the country. The sake brewery, which has been in operation since the Edo period, has been renovated and refurbished. Visitors can freely tour the old tools and panels used in actual sake brewing, as well as the rice washing area, steaming area, and koji room. After the tour, you can also taste the sake, and if you find something you like, you can purchase it. They handle many local sakes from Tamba Sasayama, making it a spot that both sake lovers and non-drinkers can enjoy.
