Visit Huwei Elementary School Auditorium

Huwei Elementary School was the only elementary school built by the Japanese in the Tamsui area during the early Japanese colonial period, holding significant historical importance. Currently, only the Huwei Elementary School Auditorium, completed in 1923, remains. The Huwei Elementary School Auditorium is a typical red brick public building from the Japanese colonial period. It is the only space in the Tamsui area that retains the memory of Japanese children's schooling and serves as a historical witness to the development of elementary education in Tamsui during the Japanese colonial period. It also features characteristics of a gathering-type public building.
