2025 Taoyuan must-try Japanese BBQ restaurant: Ichikon BBQ

This time, while we were having a family gathering, the three of us went to the popular "Ichikon Yakiniku" in Taoyuan to try it out. We ordered the popular three-person set meal in the store, which cost NT$4,980. The price doesn’t seem cheap at first glance, but after eating it, I really feel that it is worth the money. Not only are the ingredients of high quality, the presentation is also exquisite, and the service is attentive. The overall dining experience is impressive. There is a full visual shock as soon as it is served. The set menu is rich in content, including beef tongue, wagyu beef, beef short ribs, Iberian pork, chicken thighs, as well as a variety of side dishes and seafood, among which the beef is particularly outstanding. The thick-cut beef tongue is my personal favorite. After being roasted until slightly charred, it has a tender and crispy texture. The gravy bursts in your mouth when you chew it, which is very satisfying. The Wagyu beef is evenly fattened, the meat is sweet and fresh, and it almost melts in your mouth. Every bite makes you want to savor it carefully. In addition to beef, Iberian pork is also a highlight. It has a rich aroma of fat and has its own flavor when paired with rose salt or homemade sauce. The chicken thighs have been marinated in advance, and when roasted, the skin is crispy and the meat is tender. It does not steal the spotlight from the beef, but provides another kind of warm satisfaction. The seafood portion includes scallops and shrimps. The scallops are thick and plump, and have a distinct flavor after frying and grilling, while the shrimps are fresh and crispy. However, the portion is a little small, which leaves people wanting more. The side dishes include refreshing kimchi and crisp vegetables, which can just neutralize the rich taste of fat, so that you won’t feel greasy after eating the whole meal. What is worth mentioning is the quality of service. The staff will help grill the meat to get the doneness just right. They will also explain the parts of the meat and how to eat it, allowing you to relax and enjoy the moment.
