Walking in Qiluo Ancient Town - Qiluo Wenchang Palace.

We had not originally planned to visit Qiluo Ancient Town during our trip to Tengchong, but because our hotel was right in front of Qiluo Town, we decided to take a look. Walking on Huayan Road in Tengchong City, I actually saw a herd of cattle roaming on the main road, which was truly a strange sight. When you enter Qiluo Ancient Town, the first thing you see under the blue sky and white clouds is Wenchang Palace. The staggered roofs, layers of flying eaves, black tiles and white walls are exquisite and elegant. The bright red walls and stained glass windows on the sides are different from the simple architecture of Jiangnan, and have a bit more heat and intensity. The Thousand Dragon Dougong on the gatehouse is extremely exquisite and complex, gorgeous yet elegant. As it was under repair, we had no chance to enter the Wenchang Palace and could only peek into a corner through the hollow wall. In the courtyard, a clear pond, an arch bridge and lotus flowers complement the exquisite palaces. The silhouette of Kuixing Pavilion can be vaguely seen through the layers of eaves. There is a towering ancient tree outside the courtyard wall. You can walk along the wall to Qiluo Lake. On the other side of the lake is the Shuiying Temple halfway up the mountain. It is really surprising that such a beautiful treasure complex is hidden in such a small village. It is said that the Qiluo Wenchang Palace is the largest well-preserved ancient building complex in Tengchong. It’s a pity that I didn’t have the chance to miss it on this trip. I hope I will have the opportunity to visit Tengchong again in the future and have the honor of visiting the Wenchang Palace.
