Tsukiji｜The unique Tsukiji Honganji Temple

I believe that the main purpose of everyone coming to Tsukiji Market in Tokyo is to eat a lot, and few people pay attention to the magnificent Japanese temple nearby - Tsukiji Honganji. The temple is located next to Tsukiji Market and Tsukiji subway station. After eating, you may as well stop by for a visit and check in. Tsukiji Honganji, founded in 1617 during the Edo period, was originally located in Asakusa. It was a temple belonging to the Jodo Shinshu Honganji sect at the time. The temple was burned down in a fire in 1657. In 1679, the Edo Shogunate planned to rebuild the temple and chose a site on the land that was about to be reclaimed in Tokyo Bay.
