Hamarikyu Garden

Hama-rikyū Gardens located at the mouth of the Sumida River in Tokyo is an urban oasis to escape the hustle and bustle of the mega-city. From the Tsukiji Outer Market, it's a five-minute walk. You can easily do both in half a day. According to the guide brochure, this was a family garden of Tokugawa Shogun which functioned as an outer fort for the Edo Castle. There are many bridges, ponds, ducks, ravens, and uniquely shaped trees to make this a worthwhile break from the hectic parts of Tokyo. In 2024, I want to be back here. #2024wish
