He created works that captured ideas, that is, the essence of things, rather than external shapes, and drew a line between them and Rodin's "realistic and dramatic" works. Rodin's "Camille Claudel," which is on display in the same venue, also looked out of place among Brancusi's works, with its rough and heavy feel. ・ The paintings of Modigliani, with whom he shared a common interest in simplifying the shape of the head, are also on display, which is a great production. But Brancusi's heads are just so beautiful. Was there someone nearby who had a wonderful head shape? I want to say loudly that he should be grateful to his mother for taking care of his shape. ・ The first photo is his masterpiece, "The Kiss." A man and woman embrace tightly and kiss each other. Just by looking at their hands clasped behind their backs, you can feel the depth of their love. His sensitivity to abstraction allowed him to capture universal beauty from an early age, but I wondered what kind of people from his time bought his works. Unusually for an art exhibition, there are no captions for the works. The titles and descriptions of the works can be found in the catalogs distributed at the venue, but I took this to mean that the Artizon Museum wants visitors to ignore that and focus solely on "representing the essence."
