Exit from the west exit of Nippori JR Station and walk for 10 minutes to reach the famous Sunset Stairs. It is recommended to arrive between 3-4 PM to stroll through the bustling Yanaka Ginza and experience the old-town atmosphere. The yakitori shop Ichifuji here is very well-known. Follow the crowd and queue up to order chicken butt, chicken skin, chicken skewers, and a cream croquette. Everything is very delicious. The shop is very busy, so they have a no-photo policy. According to Google reviews, they are not very welcoming to foreigners, and the owner seemed quite stern when ordering. After eating the skewers on the street, I couldn't find a trash can. There are signs prohibiting littering, so if you finish your snacks, you can give the trash to the shop, and they will gladly help you dispose of it. The entire shopping district has many foreign tourists. Most of the shops are run by elderly ladies, selling many traditional Japanese daily necessities. There are also many cute miscellaneous goods shops to browse, eateries where you can drink, and standing bars. On the way back to Nippori Station, I recommend the bakery next to the temple.
