Hebibo Shrine

Hebi-kubo Shrine is known as one of the "Three Great Sacred Places of the White Snake in Japan," along with Iwakuni City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, and Oigami Onsen, Numata City, Gunma Prefecture. The white snake is so important that festivals and events are held there. Hebi-kubo Shrine enshrines both the White Snake God and the Hebi-kubo Dragon God, which is said to be rare even in Japan. The shrine has many fans, with many worshippers from all over the country, including the local area, visiting because "the snake dragon (standing up) = granting wishes for success in life." I wanted to improve my luck with money by spinning the coins and washing the coins, but because there were so many worshippers and the line was endless, only the White Snake seed coins that had been washed in the White Snake Pure Water were distributed, and I was unable to spin them. I placed the White Snake seed coin on the gold cup of the stone mill and spun it clockwise three times, then put the White Snake seed coin and my own money in a colander and purify it by immersing it in the water bowl at the coin washing place. I'll try again when the number of worshippers has calmed down. It's hard to get through on the phone, but since I made a reservation to ward off bad luck, I was able to visit without waiting in a long line.
