A must-know before visit to Shibuya!

You’ll enjoy your visit to Shibuya more if you know what to expect and come prepared. This area is energetic, loud, and full of people. It’s one of the most famous spots in Tokyo, and the hype is real but I personally recommend lowering your expectations a little so you don’t end up disappointed. For example, if you're planning to go to Shibuya Sky (the observatory), there are two things to be aware of: 1. If you don’t buy a ticket in advance, you might arrive and find out that it's already sold out for the day. In that case, you’ll have to come back another day—or miss it altogether. 2. If you do buy a ticket a few days ahead, there’s always the risk of bad weather. If it’s foggy or raining, visibility will be poor, and they may even close the rooftop for safety. That means you won’t be able to see the famous views—and you won’t get a refund. This happened to me, so I recommend checking the weather forecasts carefully before booking. As for the Shibuya Scramble Crossing, it’s definitely iconic and worth seeing, but keep in mind that it's also a regular commute route for locals. It looks cool and cinematic, but it's still a functioning street crossing. Try to be aware of your surroundings—don’t block the flow, avoid standing too long in the middle, and be careful with your belongings. Overall, Shibuya is a must-visit area. The energy is great, there’s lots to see, and it’s fun if you’re ready for the crowds. Just come prepared and stay mindful of the local flow.
