One of Tokyo's best cherry blossom viewing spots is the special scenic spot "Rikugien Garden" in Bunkyo Ward. This garden was built by Yanagisawa Yoshiyasu, a chamberlain to Tokugawa Shogun Tsunayoshi of the Edo Shogunate. The symbol of Rikugien Garden is the imposing weeping cherry tree, 15m tall, 20m wide, and 70 years old. The first weeping cherry tree is located at the entrance to the garden, and the second weeping cherry tree is about 13m tall at the back of the garden.
