My favorite hotel I've stayed in Tokyo so far

The Okura Tokyo 📍Address: 2-10-4 Toranomon, Minato-ku, Tokyo Hotel Okura Tokyo is one of the three major hotels in Tokyo, dating back to 1962. It reopened in the fall of 2019 after renovation. When I moved in this year, the overall maintenance was still very good, and I could feel the careful management. My previous knowledge of the Okura Group was limited to the Okura Hotel where I stayed when I was transiting in Manila, and the Garden Hotel in Shanghai. This time, after staying at the Okura Tokyo, my favorability towards the brand has increased again. I liked the lobby bar before I checked in. The soft light shining through the lamps complements the garden view outside the screen windows, creating a very textured atmosphere. The lacquered design of the low round table has a Japanese aesthetic, but it also breaks away from tradition, which is surprisingly suitable. Most of the guests are business people. Everyone speaks in a low voice and the environment is very quiet. The guest rooms are divided into two buildings, Heritage is slightly higher than Prestige. This time I was arranged to a tower view room, which was an unexpected surprise. The room starts at a minimum of 50 square meters, which is quite spacious for one person. When making the bed at night, there were hand-folded paper cranes and turtles (I remember that Jingbai Hotel only had turtles). In terms of service, it retains Japanese restraint but does not appear too distant, and the overall feeling is just right. What impressed me most was that one time when I was returning to my room, I happened to meet a hotel staff member. After nodding slightly, the other party turned and left in another direction, as if he didn't want to disturb me. This kind of meticulous sense of boundaries is really admirable. #TokyoHotel
