Kirimugiya Jinroku (切麦や 甚六) is a udon restaurant located in Shinjuku, Tokyo. Its taste and quality are recognized to the point that it was featured in the Michelin Guide. 🍥 Menu and Features Kirimugiya Jinroku is said to offer unique udon noodles that are different from Sanuki or Inaniwa styles. The noodles are stretched before boiling, giving them a unique chewy and soft texture. The crunchy tempura topping is a popular menu that always goes well together! The chewy texture of the noodles and the crunchy texture of the tempura go perfectly together. 🍜 Menu Introduction 🍤Chewy noodles and crunchy fried food! Hiyashi Bukkake Udon Tempura Set 1450 yen Bukkake Udon is a style where you pour soy sauce-based sauce over cold udon and eat it, but the udon noodles don't have any flour flavor and the noodles are really chewy and springy! And the tempura is very crispy and savory, but it's not oily, so I was able to eat it really cleanly. The tempura set basically had shrimp, eggplant, zucchini, carrots, and squid body. However, I added shrimp tempura for 350 yen and 2 fried oysters for 450 yen.🦪✨ 🍣 From summer limited to regular menu! Addictive Mentaiko Bibim Udon 1300 yen Hiyashi Mentai Shoyu Udon (冷やし明太子醤油うどん) is cold udon with mentaiko and soy sauce as a base, and it's salty but still savory, so it was a delicacy! Originally, it was a summer-only menu, but it is so popular that it is now a regular menu. The spicy and salty pollack roe goes well with the chewy udon noodles, and it is addictive after one bite. I added an egg because it was a recommended topping, and the color is so pretty. I definitely recommend the egg topping! I personally still think about this menu 🥺 🕖 Waiting and atmosphere The store is not big, but it has a cozy atmosphere. It is located in Shinjuku Gyoen, slightly away from Shinjuku Station, so it is popular with not only locals but also tourists, so there may be a waiting line. It is especially crowded during lunch hours, so it is better to visit during leisurely hours. I went around 8pm on a weekend, and there were about 3 groups waiting in front of me, so I got in right away! If you come to Japan, you have to eat udon, or if you like udon, this is a recommended store. From the chewy noodles to the special spicy pollack roe udon, it is a place where you can really taste the flavor of udon.
