Petals on the Moat: Chidorigafuchi’s Sakura Symphony

#cherryblossom25 Each spring, Chidorigafuchi in Tokyo’s Chiyoda Ward transforms into a breathtaking corridor of cherry blossoms. The 700-meter-long Chidorigafuchi Green Way, lined with approximately 260 cherry trees—including Somei Yoshino and Yamazakura—offers visitors a serene stroll beside the Imperial Palace’s moat. This picturesque setting attracts over a million visitors annually during the sakura season.    From March 28 to April 8, 2025, the Chiyoda Sakura Festival enhances the experience with nighttime illuminations from sunset until 10 PM, casting a magical glow over the blossoms. For a unique perspective, visitors can rent rowboats to glide along the moat, surrounded by falling petals—a scene reminiscent of a living painting.
