Unlimited Crab Experience in Japan

Before leaving Japan, I finally treated myself to a solo crab buffet feast! This crab buffet restaurant, located in Ueno, has been in operation for 8 years. The crabs served here are fresh and plump Japanese red snow crabs sourced from Sakaiminato. Each table is equipped with both a boiling pot and a grilling pot. In addition to red snow crabs, the restaurant also offers Russian snow crabs, a variety of seafood, and crab-based dishes. The baked crab meat is aromatic, the crab crystal dumplings have thin skins and generous fillings, and the steamed crab leg egg custard is tender and flavorful. Moreover, there are skewers, tempura, crab sushi, salmon sushi, a wide selection of sashimi, wagyu dishes, soba noodles, and more. The dessert section is equally impressive, featuring soft and sweet puddings, DIY cotton candy and shaved ice, making it a fun experience for kids as well. The drink station is well-stocked, offering soft drinks, fruit liqueurs, lemon sour, Japanese sake, and even the option to mix your own custom drinks. During the meal, a staff member prepared a traditional Japanese matcha tea for me and carefully explained the drinking ritual: hold the bowl and rotate it clockwise twice, drink it in three sips, enjoy the accompanying sweets, and finally rotate the bowl counterclockwise twice to finish. This ceremonial experience was truly worth trying.
