Main Facade - Style: Gothic, ornately decorated with exquisite carvings. - Features: A statue of the Virgin Mary is located above the main entrance, flanked by statues of the twelve apostles, symbolizing the core beliefs of Christianity. 2. High Altar - Location: At the end of the cathedral's nave. - Features: One of the most magnificent altars in Spain, the High Altar is composed of multi-layered gilded wood carvings depicting the life stories of Christ and the Virgin Mary. A huge stained-glass window above the altar creates a dazzling display of light and shadow when sunlight streams through. 3. Choir - Location: Center of the nave. - Features: The carved wooden seats of the choir stalls are masterpieces of the Renaissance period, intricately carved with biblical stories and historical figures. The pipe organ above the seats is also quite spectacular. 4. Sacristy - Location: Southeast side of the cathedral. - Features: The Sacristy houses a large collection of religious art, including El Greco's masterpiece *The Disrobing of Christ*, as well as gold and silver artifacts, relics, and precious religious vestments. 5. Chapter House - Location: North side of the cathedral. - Features: The frescoes in the Chapter House were painted by Renaissance artists and depict biblical scenes and the lives of saints. The ornately decorated ceiling showcases the influence of the Mudéjar style. 6. Transparente - Location: East side of the cathedral. - Features: This Baroque masterpiece is made of marble and gilded decorations. An opening at the top allows sunlight to illuminate the altar, creating a "transparent" effect. The carvings are delicate and dynamic. 7. Bell Tower - Location: Northwest corner of the cathedral. - Features: The bell tower stands 90 meters tall and is one of Toledo's landmarks. It is currently not open for climbing.
