Seeing Deer in the Deep Forest, a Guide to Traveling in Kushiro, Hokkaido

It's already May, and the temperature in Kushiro, Hokkaido is only 2 degrees. When I woke up in the morning from the hot spring hotel in the forest, I saw the flowing river, plants, and strolling deer outside the window. Kushiro Shitsugen National Park is the largest wetland in Japan, where red-crowned cranes live and breed, as well as Hokkaido deer (Ezo deer), owls and other animals and birds. I encountered two red-crowned cranes taking a walk, and two fawns. The little deer is so cute! At first, it saw me in the woods, and then the big one ran to the side of the road and stretched its neck to look for me. I didn't react at the time (I didn't want to disturb it), and then the little deer went back to the forest to continue eating grass~ Kushiro is also home to the Ainu, a minority ethnic group in Hokkaido. They believe that all things have spirits, and deer, owls, foxes, and wolves are their gods (kamuy). You can also feel their culture and totems in the Ainu Village of Lake Akan.
