Ulsan Sea Travel (Mercure Ambassador Ulsan Privilege Panorama View)

I am heading to Ulsan and have decided to stay at a hotel. The main purpose of this visit is to enjoy the afternoon tea at Mercure, so I chose a location that offers beautiful surroundings. The Mercure hotel is located about 40-50 minutes away from the city center. I was also captivated by the panoramic view showcased on their website. I had initially booked a Privilege Double room, but I was drawn to the Privilege Panorama Double room. Upon check-in, I inquired about a paid upgrade, and the manager kindly offered a free upgrade. In return, I added breakfast for the next day during check-in and completed the payment. It was a delightful and mutually beneficial check-in experience. 🥰 This hotel occupies the lower floors (2nd to 11th) of the KCC Switzen building, which is over 30 floors high. It opened in 2019 and is now in its third year of operation. All rooms offer ocean views, but they are categorized into partial ocean views and full ocean views depending on the room. Only upgraded rooms and the top-tier suites, located at the corner sides, provide panoramic ocean views. Privilege Panorama rooms are available up to the 9th floor, while the 10th and 11th floors seem to house suites. I was assigned a room on the 8th floor. The 9th floor was fully booked that day, highlighting its popularity. The weather was perfect, and as soon as I entered the room, I thought, "I'm so glad I chose this hotel," giving myself a mental pat on the back. I then enjoyed the afternoon tea included in the package. Originally, I planned to visit the Starbucks Reserve at Ganjeolgot, but I opted for a nap in my room instead, as I was exhausted from the heat on the terrace (even though it was shaded). After a refreshing nap, I had dinner at Kim Boknam Beer, one of the establishments located on the 1st and 2nd floors of the hotel. I enjoyed a solo meal of chicken and beer. At midnight, I went for a walk along the beach. There were many people camping and night fishing. Interestingly, this beach is not sandy but covered with pebbles. The pebbles are smooth and rounded, making it easy to walk even in sneakers. It was a unique experience to stroll along this pebble beach. Listen to the sound of the waves and the crunch of pebbles underfoot! After the walk, I returned to my room and fell asleep. Although I didn’t set an alarm, I woke up instinctively to the red glow of sunrise. The sunrise was truly spectacular! Privilege rooms and above are equipped with Nespresso machines, so I enjoyed a morning coffee while watching the sunrise. The corner room has four windows that open, allowing the sound of seagulls to surround me, enhancing the refreshing atmosphere. After enjoying the sunrise, I went back to sleep and woke up around 9:15 AM, 45 minutes before breakfast service ended. I hurried down to have breakfast. The omelet, prepared with care, was delicious, but the overall breakfast experience felt proportional to its price of 25,000 KRW. Finally, I visited the sauna, which is complimentary for Privilege rooms and above. The sauna boasts ocean views. I also explored the healing garden on the same floor before checking out at 11 AM.
