However, we noticed that the entrance gate of the temple has a sign written in Lao, which reads something like 'Wat Mahathat,' or the Great Relic Temple. The temple is located right on the main road in the heart of Vang Vieng. If you're visiting Vang Vieng, you'll likely pass by this temple multiple times. The atmosphere is reminiscent of Thai temples, situated in a bustling area, yet the interior of the temple is peaceful and serene. While it’s not a popular tourist destination, you can still explore the local Buddhist art of Laos here. Although it bears similarities to Thai temples, there are unique details that reflect Lao culture and make it worth a visit.
