Visiting the Palace of Versailles is one of the things to do absolutely when you visit Paris. The castle is 20 kilometers away from Paris but it is easily accessible by train. Just take the RER line C. The journey takes about 1 hour. Especially remember to buy your skip the line ticket in advance on the Internet to avoid the very long queue that can occur especially during the holiday period. Once there, plan a full day to visit without stress the different rooms of the castle and the gardens with its dozens of ponds and fountains. Don't miss the Hall of Mirrors in the castle. Outside the domain is very vast and there are several mansions to explore, such as the Petit and Grand Trianon and the Hameau de la Reine.
