Wat Sisaket

Built in 1818 by King Anouvong, this place is both a temple and a museum at the same time. . The temple is located in the city center. Inside the temple, there are many Buddha images collected, about 16,000. The beauty and highlight of this temple is the Sim and the Ho Trai, which are influenced by Rattanakosin art. Around it, there is a pavilion that is very similar to many Rattanakosin art chapels. The door and window arches are in the shape of a pavilion, similar to the chapel of Wat Phra Sri Rattana Satsadaram in Bangkok. . But the roof is in the Lan Xang style. It is the only ancient temple that is still intact. After the war with the Thais in 1828, it was not destroyed by the Siamese invasion. It is assumed that because the architecture is similar to Rattanakosin art, it is a traditional architecture that combines Thai and Lao arts.
