The sacred mirror is considered to be the same as the Yatagarasu (Mirror of the Heavenly Mirror), a sacred treasure of the Inner Shrine of Ise Jingu Shrine. It was founded in the second year of the reign of Emperor Jimmu, about 2,600 years ago.
