Who says there are no sunsets in Wanning? You just haven't found the right spot.

Wanning is breathtakingly beautiful when the weather is good. Although the road conditions aren't great, the area is still developing, so it's understandable. I've been in Wanning for a week now, and it's been truly relaxing. The only downside is that it's not very convenient to get a taxi. Area: Wanning is divided into Riyue Bay, Shenzhou Peninsula, Shimei Bay, and Xinqun Bay. These bays are quite far apart, and each offers unique scenic beauty. If you're not in a hurry, I recommend spending two days in each bay. This isn't a suitable place for fast-paced travel; you'll feel rushed. Wanning Travel Tips: ❗In the Hainan summer, the most dangerous things are not only the UV rays but also the betel nut bugs under the shade of trees. Their bites are incredibly itchy and leave dark marks. Those who attract mosquitoes should definitely bring mosquito repellent. ❗Wanning offers surfing and stand-up paddleboarding in coconut groves. If you like excitement, choose surfing. If you want to take photos and experience nature, choose stand-up paddleboarding. Personally, I think stand-up paddleboarding is more photogenic, with half seawater and half coconut groves. ❗For the Shenzhou Peninsula Lighthouse in Wanning, you can rent an e-bike outside the scenic area for just CNY 15–20. It's free and relaxing, and it can seat two people. Remember to bargain. The scenic spot's shuttle costs CNY 16 per person for a round trip and generally doesn't stop midway. ❗If you plan to go to Shanqin Bay, I recommend renting a car. Otherwise, a round trip by taxi will cost more than CNY 200. The transportation there isn't very convenient, and taxis are hard to find and expensive. ❗Just choose one of Qiaohai Ranch and Lubay Ranch. Lubay Ranch charges CNY 38 per person and offers various attractions, including small animals, lawns, a café, and a restaurant. It's perfect for relaxation. Accommodation: If you don't like crowds and value a good night's sleep, stay in Shimei Bay. It's quiet during the off-season, and some hotels have their own beaches where you can enjoy stunning sunsets and sunshine. For a lively nightlife, a longer stay, or budget-friendly options, choose Riyue Bay. During the off-season, you can find rooms for CNY 150+ per night. Hotels like Le Méridien, The Westin, and Grand Hyatt are right on the beach. Transportation: Wanning doesn't have an airport. You can fly directly to Haikou or Sanya, choosing the cheaper flight, and then take a half-hour high-speed rail trip to Wanning. Train/High-speed Rail: Wanning Station, Shenzhou Station. Unless your first stop is Xinqun Bay, choose Shenzhou Station. It's closer to both Riyue Bay and Shenzhou Peninsula. You can call a car on the platform after exiting the station. Bus: It's cheap but doesn't have many stops. If you're going to other bays, the bus ride will be long and not suitable for fast-paced travel. The recommended order of transportation is rental car > taxi > e-bike.
