Cracking the code

A visit to Bletchley Park was the highlight of my trip to Milton Keynes. I had learnt about Bletchley Park when i was small and we used to listen to BBC radio comedy series called Hut 33. Upon arriving iIwas greeted by a guard at the gate who showed me the way to the car park... Free parking for visitors!!! All the tickets they offer are open for unlimited visits for one year so they are a very good thing when considering that one whole day is not enough at this place. The guide for the main areas was very knowledgeable and courteous. There were also at least 4 different exhibitions about the different activities that went on at the secret code-breaking facility at Bletchley Park during WW2. The explainers and staff are really courteous and knowledgeable. They were also very helpful and their suggestions were actually based on communication with the visitor, so they did not spout out the usual pre-written responses. This was actually a breath of fresh air in a country where guides speak mostly pre-written responses. There is also the National Radio Centre which, on addition to really good exhibits, has a working amateur radio station which visitors can visit. The people there are really enthusiastic about the subject... they are really knowledgeable and friendly. All in all it is a place which merits at least two days dedicated to it. Especially if you are into code-breaking, history military stuff or radio.#museum
