Qingchuan Pavilion, a Millennial Tower Echoing the Yellow Crane Tower

Located on Yugongji at the eastern foot of Guishan Mountain in Hanyang, Wuhan, Qingchuan Pavilion sits north of the Han River and east of the Yangtze River, facing the Yellow Crane Tower across the river. Known as the "First Tower of Chutian," it was built during the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty and named after a line from Cui Hao's poem: "Clear river, distinct Hanyang trees." Covering an area of approximately 8,000 square meters, it is the only historical site in Wuhan situated along the river and is a National AAA Tourist Attraction and a National Key Cultural Relic Protection Unit. 🌟Highlights: Its unique location allows visitors to enjoy the scenery of both the Yangtze and Han Rivers, complementing the Yellow Crane Tower. Steeped in history and culture, including the legend of Yu the Great taming the flood, the architectural style features distinct Chu characteristics, with flying eaves, red walls, and green tiles, exuding an ancient and elegant charm. ✅Main Attractions: 1. Qingchuan Pavilion Main Building: A reinforced concrete imitation wood structure, 17.5m high, with two floors. Ascend the tower for panoramic views of the Yangtze River Bridge, the Yellow Crane Tower, and the two rivers. 2. Yuji Palace: Originally built in the Southern Song Dynasty and formerly known as Yuwang Temple, it has served as a place for worshipping Yu the Great throughout Wuhan's history. Inside, you'll find a bronze statue of Yu the Great and exhibits on his flood control achievements. 3. Tiemenguan: Initially built in the late Eastern Han Dynasty, it served as a military fortress and later a commercial passage. Today, it evokes the majesty of its military past. 4. Others: Other attractions include Chubo Pavilion, Chaozong Pavilion, Yubei Pavilion, and the Jingchu Xiongfeng Stele, each imbued with unique historical and cultural significance. 🕙Opening Hours: Open from Tuesday to Sunday, 9:00am - 5:00pm (last entry at 4:30pm). Closed on Mondays, except for public holidays. Closed on Chinese New Year's Eve. 💰Tickets: Daytime admission is currently free.
