Wuhu Catholic Church

Wuhu Catholic Church: Located at No. 90, Changjiang Middle Road, Jinghu District, Wuhu City, Anhui Province, Wuhu Catholic Church is one of the best-preserved Catholic churches in Anhui Province and one of the only two Catholic churches in Anhui Province listed as national treasures. The church was built in 1887 by French Jesuit missionary Jin Shiyu. It was burned down in 1891 due to the Wuhu Church Incident. The Qing government paid compensation to rebuild it in 1895. The church is in Roman style, with two bell towers on the left and right sides of the front, each 18 meters high, and a statue of Jesus between the bell towers. The interior of the church is exquisitely decorated, solemn and elegant. Standing in the church, you will feel like you are away from the hustle and bustle of the world, and your soul will be purified. The church is currently open to the public for free.
