Donglin Academy

Donglin Academy, located at No. 867 Jiefang East Road, Liangxi District, Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province, also known as "Guishan Academy," was founded by Yang Shi in the first year of the Zhenghe era of the Northern Song Dynasty (1111), and was later abandoned. In the 32nd year of the Wanli era of the Ming Dynasty (1604), Gu Xiancheng and others rebuilt the academy and lectured there, but it was ordered to be demolished by Wei Zhongxian. The academy was rebuilt during the Qing Dynasty and later converted into Donglin Primary School. In 2002, the primary school was vacated and the site was developed into a tourist attraction.
