The best time to see the rapeseed flowers this year was much later than usual. I went on March 8, the first official day of the viewing period. Although only some of the rapeseed flowers were in bloom, I was lucky that it was the best weather day in recent days. 🚠Cable Car Options: There are two cable cars in the scenic area: A, the Ancient Village Cable Car, and B, the Terraced Fields Cable Car, each corresponding to two core areas. Cable Car B, which goes to the terraced fields, is only open during the rapeseed flower viewing period each year. It was open when I went, and I recommend taking Cable Car B up the mountain and Cable Car A down. Cable Car B goes directly to the highest point of the scenic area, after which you can walk all the way down, saving energy. Taking Cable Car A up requires more uphill walking. The boarding points for Cable Cars A and B are located at two different visitor centers. The visitor centers offer luggage storage services for ¥10 per suitcase. Since the cable cars up and down are not at the same visitor center, you need to return to the original location to retrieve your luggage. The two visitor centers are about 400 meters apart. 🌼Terraced Fields Area: Take Cable Car B up the mountain. As the cable car slowly ascends, the view gradually opens up, and the terraced fields stretch out like ribbons. Although only some of the rapeseed flowers were blooming, they still added a touch of vibrant life to the terraces. Right outside Cable Car B is the glass bridge, with a transparent glass section in the middle. Walking on it, you can see the rapeseed flowers below. If you don't want to miss the chance to get up close to the terraced fields, you can try walking down a side road after crossing the bridge. I walked all the way to the [Plum Garden] (the midpoint between the ancient village area and the terraced fields area) before turning back to walk down to the terraced fields. There are many small paths in the terraced fields area for you to explore. The scenic area has thoughtfully arranged photo spots in various locations, including bicycles, camping tables and chairs, and wooden houses, all of which make for great pictures. 🍂Ancient Village Area: Compared to the terraced fields area, the ancient village area has a more commercial atmosphere, filled with snack bars, homestays, and Trip Moments shops. Huangling Ancient Village is built against the mountain, with scattered houses. The white walls, gray tiles, high walls, small windows, and horse-head walls are all characteristic of Hui-style architecture. As long as it's not raining, the autumn harvest is displayed outside the ancient village area year-round, with various bamboo plaques filled with chili peppers, corn, and other crops. There are many great photo spots, but you must go early. When I went, not only tourists but also commercial photographers were queuing up at various spots. 🎫Tickets: I happened to go on the first day of the price increase. Previously, it was ¥140 per person, but starting March 8, it was ¥170 per person. There are discounts for seniors and children. You can buy tickets in advance on the official WeChat account. 🚗Transportation: I took a taxi from Wunvzhou Scenic Area to Huangling Scenic Area, which cost around ¥110 on Didi. From Huangling, I took a taxi to Jingdezhen for ¥360, for your reference. The drivers for both trips said that during peak season, due to traffic congestion, private cars cannot go directly to the entrance of the scenic area. You need to transfer to a free shuttle bus at a parking lot further away.
