Xiamen - Tianzhu Rock Temple.

Tianzhu Rock Temple is located in Xianyue Mountain, Huli District, Xiamen City, Fujian Province. It was built in the late Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty (1712–1722). Due to its remote location, the history of its destruction and construction is unknown. In the late Qing Dynasty, a monk from Nanshan Temple in Zhangzhou, Zhuanmi, rebuilt the temple and insisted on practicing both farming and Zen. In the early 1930s, Master Shanlin, the abbot of Miaoshi Temple, rebuilt and expanded the temple, making it an important religious site. Tianzhu Rock Temple was destroyed by war before the victory of the Anti-Japanese War. The rebuilt Tianzhu Rock Temple in 1998 retained the traditional Minnan style. The main buildings include the Dharma Hall, the North and South Arhat Halls, the Bell and Drum Towers, the Patriarch Hall, and the Guan Gong Hall. Tianzhu Rock Temple is not only a quiet place in Xiamen City, but also a good place for citizens to carry out religious activities and leisure. The design of the temple emphasizes the central axis, and the architectural complex is based on yellow walls and yellow tiles, reflecting the traditional Minnan style. Although located in the city center, Tianzhu Rock Temple maintains a quiet atmosphere, suitable for believers and tourists to visit and tour.
