Xianyang Museum (Confucian Temple)

Xianyang Museum is located in the middle section of Zhongshan Street in Xianyang City. It was built and opened to the public in 1962. It is a national second-level museum. The site of the museum is the Xianyang Confucian Temple built in the fourth year of Ming Hongwu (1371 AD). In 2015, Xianyang Museum was renamed Xianyang Museum. The museum has a collection of more than 20,000 cultural relics, including precious ones such as a jade horse, a jade figurine head, a painted commander figurine, and a tiger talisman of the King of Lu from the Han Dynasty; a gold and silver tripod inlaid with patterns, an Anyi Xiaguan bell, and a dragon-shaped inlaid bell from the Warring States Period; a red gold pot carved with patterns, and a three-color dromedary from the Tang Dynasty. Unfortunately I didn’t see it. Due to the construction of the basic display and exhibition hall upgrading and renovation project in the Confucian Temple area, it will be closed for 100 days starting from June 4, 2024. ✅✅Only the "Stele Stone Display" and "Purple Jade and Gold Sand" exhibitions are open. There is also a photography competition exhibition in the yard. I saw many bluestone horse hitching posts and various stone statues of animals with vague features. Because it was a holiday, the museum was full of people, including tourists and people taking photos in ancient costumes. The weather was hot and the closing time was approaching, so we just had a quick look around. I don’t have time to visit the Xianyang Ancient Ferry Ruins.
