Travel Experience to "Bipenggou" (毕棚沟) Land of Mountains and Glaciers🇨🇳 1. Starting Point My trip to Bipenggou started from Chengdu (成都), which is the most convenient departure point for tourists. Bipenggou is located in Aba County (阿坝州), Sichuan Province, about 200 kilometers away from Chengdu. I chose to take a bus from Xinnanmen Station (新南门车站), which took about 4-5 hours. On a winding road full of mountain and river scenery. 2. First glimpse at Bipenggou When I arrived at Bipenggou, the first thing I felt was the fresh air and the snowy mountains standing tall in front of me. The trees and grass on both sides of the road turned golden yellow and bright red during the autumn leaves season. (Went in late November) It was a beautiful picture like a postcard. 3. First destination: Yunnu Lake (云雾湖) Start your journey to Yunnu Lake (Cloud and Mist Lake) It is about 10 kilometers away from the entrance. This lake With its azure blue reflecting the snowy mountains, it is one of the most popular photo spots in Bipenggou. On the way to the lake, you can see the glaciers and waterfalls flowing down from the mountaintop. 4. Bipenggou Glacier (毕棚沟冰川) After resting at the lake, we took the park's electric car to Bipenggou Glacier. This place is about 4,000 meters above sea level. The weather is very cold and windy. We had to bring oxygen cans because we were afraid that our bodies would not be able to adapt in time. Many tourists walked up into the snow to take pictures. 5. Hiking in the pine forest and clear streams The hiking trails in Bipenggou are full of tall pine trees and cedar forests. This place looks like a forest in Europe. The atmosphere is quiet. There is a clear stream flowing along the way. I stopped at Guohaizi Grass Field (锅巴滩) which offers a panoramic view of the snowy mountains. 6. Impressions and challenges The most impressive thing is the beautiful nature and fresh air. Bipenggou is suitable for those who want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and experience the tranquility of the mountains. However, this trip also has its challenges. - Thin air: Because some places are very high above sea level, you have to walk slowly and drink plenty of water to prevent altitude sickness. - Weather changes quickly: The weather is very good in the morning. But in the afternoon, it starts to fog up and the temperature drops rapidly. - Hiking requires good preparation: Shoes are very important. Choose waterproof and non-slip sneakers because some paths have ice. 7. Return journey and reflections After spending the whole day in Bipenggou, I went back to Lixian (理县) which is nearby and is a good resting point for tourists who want to travel back to Chengdu the next day. For those who want to come to Bipenggou, I recommend that 1. Choose the right time: Autumn (September-November) or winter (December-February) 2. Prepare warm clothing and oxygen cans. 3. Leave enough time for travel and rest because traveling up the mountain is quite energy-consuming. Summary: Bipengou - A mountain paradise that must be visited once Bipengou is a place that makes you feel like you have truly entered the world of nature.
