Weekend Trip to Xiapu from Shanghai: Orange East Wall, Banyan and Maple Shadows

Departed from Shanghai by high-speed train at 9:30 AM on Saturday. When the scenery outside the window began to show marine aquaculture scenes, after four hours and twenty minutes, I arrived at Xiapu Railway Station. Took a taxi straight to Sansha East Wall Village in the homestay area, about a half-hour drive. Checked into a seaside homestay at the eastern tip of the village—Yunshang Fuyao. Opening the window revealed the shimmering sea, and the warm sea breeze greeted me. Chose a romantic round bed room I liked and ordered my favorite special drink. With such great weather, I peacefully waited for the sunset at the homestay that afternoon. The sunset was stunning; the entire sea turned into an orange ocean. At that moment, my mind was completely empty. The next day, I woke up naturally, had breakfast, and set off at 10 AM. A half-hour drive brought me to Yangjiaxi Banyan and Maple Park. The park in the mist looked like an ink painting. I sought out the 800-year-old "King of Banyan Trees," whose rough bark was marked with the traces of time. Standing under the giant umbrella-like canopy, the ancient banyan’s roots intertwined, and the hanging aerial roots swayed gently in the wind. It made me feel so small. I couldn’t resist taking a special photo with a small basket. Banyan and Maple Park and Yangjiaxi Park are two separate parks with separate entrance fees. Rafting, zip-lining, and slides require additional fees. Due to limited time, I only had a brief visit. Tossing stones into the creek, splashing water, startling a few dragonflies. Children played, their laughter echoing through the woods. The weather was still a bit hot. Left Yangjiaxi Park around 3 PM. After an hour’s drive back toward Xiapu County, I stopped at Taikang Road Food Street for snacks and desserts, then slowly and sweetly headed back. I want to especially praise the homestay for thoughtfully planning the tour details and arranging transportation, making the whole trip smooth and time-saving.
