Enter the Qiantang Zhizhai Museum and explore the stone-carved Tang scriptures.

The old museum area of Qiantang Zhizhai Museum left a deep impression on me. Although it is rated as a 4A-level scenic spot, I dare say that except for the residents of Tiemen Town, the locals of Xin'an County, most of the people in Luoyang, and some people in Henan, many travel experts have never heard of or cared about this place. Mr. Zhang Fang, the founder of Qiantang Zhizhai and a veteran of the Xinhai Revolution, initially chose Tiemen Town, an inconspicuous place, to avoid chaos and protect the treasures, collecting more than 1,400 tomb epitaphs and stone carvings from the Tang Dynasty and later dynasties. Among those treasured Tang Dynasty epitaphs are written the life stories and achievements of various figures from the early Tang Dynasty to the late Tang Dynasty, including prime ministers, generals, governors, celebrities, gentlemen, palace maids, and talented women. There are also stone carvings of political figures such as Empress Wu Zetian, Detective Di Renjie, and calligraphers and painters of various dynasties, such as Dong Qichang, Zheng Banqiao, Mi Fu, Liu Yong, Wang Duo, and modern celebrities such as Kang Youwei, Zhang Taiyan, and Yu Youren. Among them, you can also see the original characters created by Wu Zetian during her reign. As well as the only surviving calligraphy by Di Renjie. ☀️Practical TIPS☀️ 1️⃣Be sure to visit the old museum. Inside Qiantang Zhizhai, there are rooms and corridors embedded with rows of epitaphs and stone carvings. The new museum is opposite the side entrance of Qiantang Zhizhai, and there are also exhibits, but it is still recommended to visit the old museum first. 2️⃣Admission to the old museum is free, while admission to the new museum is 60 yuan/person. 3️⃣There is also a large house in the side courtyard of the old museum, where the Xiwo Grottoes are located.
