Gasa Town, Xinping

Yunnan Huayao Dai New Century Grand Hotel Senbo Resort. Today, I'll talk about the main reason for this trip to Gasa Town: the water park. It's a place where both adults and children can find something to enjoy. Many rides have height and weight restrictions, and some are so thrilling that many people can only admire them from afar. The name "Gasa" comes from the local Dai language, meaning "market on the beach" (Note: In Yunnan, a market is called "gaizi"). Gasa is located on the eastern foot of the central Ailao Mountains, on the banks of the Gasa River, a tributary of the Red River. It's a transportation hub and trading center for three cities (Yuxi, Chuxiong, Pu'er) and five counties (Xinping, Shuangbai, Zhenyuan, Mojiang, Yuanjiang). It borders Xinhua Township and Laochang Township to the east, Mosha Town to the south, Heping Township of Zhenyuan County to the west, and Shutang Town to the north. The Gasa River flows through the town from northeast to southwest. The town covers an area of 415.6 square kilometers. The town government is located in Gasa Street, at 101°34' east longitude and 24°03' north latitude. Eleven ethnic minorities, including Dai, Yi, and Hani, live here. It's a must-pass point on Provincial Road 218, 72 kilometers from the county seat. The terrain is complex, ranging from high-altitude mountainous areas over 2,000 meters above sea level to low-altitude hot valleys at 510 meters, resulting in a distinct vertical climate. The town is rich in resources, with favorable natural conditions and abundant products, especially rice, corn, sugarcane, and bananas. If you're not in a hurry, you can spend about five days here and explore the mysterious Ailao Mountain.
