Journey South 3: Exploring the Antarctic Village

Nanji Village is located at the southernmost tip of mainland my country, in Jiaowei Township, Xuwen County, at 20°13′14′′ north latitude, which means "I love you forever." Opposite Dengloujiao is Lingao County of Hainan. The People's Liberation Army set sail from here and launched the battle to liberate Hainan, so there is a saying that "the credit for the liberation of Hainan goes to Xuwen." The watershed is the confluence of the Qiongzhou Strait current and the Beibu Gulf current. When the tide is low, many people come here to catch seafood and can walk out for hundreds of meters. The coral reserve here preserves the most complete and abundant coral species on China's continental shelf. Nanji Village is also an important sea salt production area in Guangdong. The large and small salt ponds are very beautiful in the afterglow of the setting sun.
