Hubushan is a famous and valuable place. Xuzhou was frequently flooded in ancient times. Since the Song Dynasty, the Yellow River has flowed into the Huai River through Xuzhou, often flooding and submerging the city, bringing great disasters to the people. However, Hubushan was spared from the disaster due to its high terrain. In 1624, Zhang Xuan, the head of the Xuzhou Hubu Department, moved to Hubushan to avoid floods. Hubushan is close to the city, and many wealthy and powerful families moved there, making it a place where wealthy families flocked to live. Over time, living in Hubushan became a symbol of wealth and status, hence the saying "Poor North Gate, Rich South Gate, Wealthy People Live in Hubushan."
