The greatest admiral of Korea: Yi Sun Shin

Admiral Yi Sun Shin (이순신) was one of Korea’s greatest generals, who eventual became a legendary hero of Korean military history. In one of his battles, he used 13 ships to destroy 130 Japanese battle ships. The Turtle Ship (Geobukseon) was known to be a war battle ship that was used to fight in wars on sea. Yi Sun Shin has used these in battle. In Yeosu, there is a replica of the Turtle Ship for the public to see.
