Yichun Duosheng Tower

Located by the Xiujiang River in Yiyang New District, Yichun Duosheng Tower borders Yiyang Avenue to the south and is surrounded by water on two sides, covering a total area of 150 acres. Its name originates from Han Yu's famous line, "Do not deem Yichun remote, for its landscapes invite splendid journeys." Originally built during the Qiande to Tianxi periods of the Song Dynasty, it was constructed to commemorate Han Yu's achievements as the governor of Yuanzhou. The main tower features Song Dynasty architectural style, with three apparent and six hidden floors, surrounded by pavilions on all sides, a hip-and-gable roof, large bracket sets, and deep eaves. Standing at 51.9 meters tall with nine floors, it covers a construction area of 12,400 square meters. The one-story north and south auxiliary towers complement the main tower perfectly. The interior is rich in cultural ambiance, adorned with nearly 100 plaques and couplets. The walls of the second-floor plaza at the base display nearly 100 carved murals depicting Yichun's scenic spots and historical sites. The scenic area includes zones like the main entrance service area and cultural square. Duosheng Tower is not only a symbol of Yichun's history and culture but also a key local leisure attraction, drawing numerous visitors to admire its beauty.
